Matthew is the principal of CST Tax Advisors in Sydney. As a Chartered Accountant and international tax specialist, he brings more than two decades of experience to bear when advising clients who are investing or moving across borders. He holds a Master of Taxation, is a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Registered Tax Agent.

As the principal of CST Tax Advisors in Sydney and previously the Managing Director of our office in Singapore, Matthew has first hand experience in moving internationally and operating a business in multiple countries.

He has over 20 years of experience providing international tax advice to globally mobile executives, business founders and family groups with international interests. Matthew helps clients manage the tax risks and broader opportunities of investing or moving abroad.

International Tax Expertise

His principal area of tax expertise includes residency, trusts, employee share schemes, and Australian international tax requirements. Matthew is a specialist for Australian companies expanding abroad and regularly works with other accounting firms to assist their clients with international tax matters.

He has had articles published in leading taxation and industry journals in Australia, the United Kingdom and Singapore and regularly presents at industry seminars.


Matthew obtained the degree of Master of Taxation at the Australian School of Taxation (ATAX) at the University of New South Wales, where he was awarded the Allens Arthur Robinson Prize for the best performance by a graduating student. He hold a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Macquarie University where he graduated with an award of meritorious academic excellence.

In Australia, Matthew is a Chartered Tax Advisor, Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. He is a member of the Sydney chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

In Singapore, Matthew is a Chartered Accountant and Accredited Tax Advisor having been admitted to membership of both the Singapore Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Advisors.
